Pre-Primary

Adavita International School follows Montessori curriculum for its pre-primary students. Montessori Education is over 100 years old. This method of education is largely child-centred, with specially trained teachers (called adults) who guide the children within a set curriculum. Language, maths, arts and crafts curricula take full advantage of this developmental phase by laying down basic concepts in an easy to understand manner.

The curriculum builds on the skills that the students have mastered throughout kindergarten. In addition to the academic development, children learn to work together and build strong social bonds. Children mentor one another and enjoy working as a team.

It puts children of various ages in the same classroom and features special educational materials, student-chosen work, a collaborative environment with student mentors, and instruction in social skills. There are no tests or evaluations. This helps children learn in an enjoyable way and reach their fullest potential at their own pace.

Practical Life Learning

Practical life exercises are designed to teach children life skills. Young children carry out tasks that they see adults (teachers) performing. These exercises develop the child’s Independence, Concentration and Co-ordination.

Sensorial Learning

Montessori sensorial materials awaken the child’s ability to learn through their senses. Children are given many opportunity to enjoy producing something for themselves. Each of the Sensorial Materials isolate one defining quality such as color, weight, shape, texture, size, sound, smell, etc.

Learning Language

Proven phonics approach helps children learn to read latest by age 4 and the other sensorial activities indirectly help them in writing. Phonics help make learning the English language easier by breaking into just 44 sounds rather than memorizing all words. We use Montessori moveable letters to build small words with the specific phonetic sound.

Learning Arithmetic

The foundation for Arithmetic is developed through sensorial materials. Numerical rods in the math area are divided into tenred and blue sections. The child can set the rods out from numbers one to ten so that it shows that the longer the rod, the higher the number. The pink tower has ten graded cubes, increasing in size by 1 cm.

Cultural Activities

Cultural activities include geography, history, science, botany and zoology. This will cover various concepts including earth, space, magnetism, light, land, air, water, gravity, sound, motion and history. We aim to excite children in learning about events of the past and how they have contributed to the world in which we live today.
